Ten years ago, Julie embarked on a remarkable journey that transformed her passion for sewing into a thriving business, Overly Gorgeous. Starting in a humble shed in her garden, she quickly moved to a small shop and eventually expanded to occupy half of the premises she's in now.
In 2015, Julie decided to diversify her offerings to include more craft, patchwork, quilting fabrics, dressmaking fabrics, and an expanded haberdashery selection. This decision marked a new chapter in her career, broadening her horizons and enabling her to reach more sewing enthusiasts.
A New Chapter: Sew Yourself Happy
After seven years of success, Julie has decided to close her shop to focus on running dressmaking, patchwork, and other sewing classes in and around Sidmouth, Seaton, and Exeter. Her new venture, Sew Yourself Happy, is not just about teaching sewing techniques; it's about creating a community where people can come together to share their love for sewing, learn from each other, and find joy in their creations.
