Beginners' Guide to Putting a Zip into a Garment

Join Julie at Sew Yourself Happy for an engaging hands-on sewing class, where you'll master the technique of inserting a zipper into a garment using a Janome sewing machine. Whether you're familiar with standard zipper insertion but have yet to learn the technique for a concealed zipper, this workshop is an excellent opportunity. It's ideal for both beginners and intermediate sewers eager to refine their sewing skills and expand their techniques.

Workshop Overview:

In this workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of placing a zip into a pretend seam. The focus will be on practical, step-by-step guidance to ensure you leave with the confidence to apply this technique to your own projects. All necessary equipment and materials, including the zip and a pretend seam, will be provided.

No prior sewing experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn is a must!

All sewing machines and materials for the workshop will be provided.

Optional A-Line Skirt Kit:

For those looking to take their learning further, there will be an optional A-line skirt kit for purchase. This kit allows you to apply your new zip-inserting skills to an actual garment, which you can then complete at home. Kit Cost £35
