Join the fabulous Textile and Fashion Designer and TV Presenter Sarah Patterson for an inspiring and hands-on dressmaking workshop!

In this workshop, you’ll embark on the exciting journey of creating your very own dress. This is the start of your project, designed to set you off in the right direction and give you the confidence to make your own dresses. While you won't complete the dress during the event, you'll gain the essential skills needed to continue your project at home.

Class Details:

  • Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours

  • In this time, you will learn the basics of pattern making and:

  • Choose any adult’s dress pattern from Sewing-Sanctuary or bring your own pattern and fabric.

  • Learn how to make clothing with guidance from tutor Sarah Patterson, who will walk you through the process of making a garment.

  • Receive advice on suitable projects to tackle, with a wide range of patterns and fabrics available at Sewing-Sanctuary.

Please choose a pattern prior to attending the workshop or bring your own pattern and fabric to ensure you make something you truly want to wear!

  • Basic pattern making tools

  • Sewing machines (if needed)

  • Expert advice and guidance from Sarah Patterson
