Coming from a family line of dressmakers, including for the Swedish Royal Court, Fi was always destined to create. Her successful dressmaking ventures have included made to measure silk lingerie and Lycra workout wear.
Her crafting activities have been varied but on discovering the wonderful world of wool and felting, she was hooked.
Fi runs ‘learn to wet felt’ workshops in the North Somerset area, offering the chance to create and take away your own amazing artwork in a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere.
Finding some time to spare and a desire to study, Fi joined the level 3 Fibrecraft course at Bicton College, Devon in 2017. According to her tutor, Gillian Burbidge, “Fi showed outstanding creative energy, in-depth research, commitment to detail, inclusivity and generosity of spirit” and “was able and willing to take advice”.
At the completion of the course Fi was awarded the prestigious ‘Craft 4 Crafters Student Award’ 2018. This award offered a trade stand and workshop space for three C4C shows enabling Fi to expand her business profile and selling/teaching opportunities.
Fi says “having experienced the C4C organisation whilst being a student at Bicton I was so pleased to receive my award - they are a generous, thoughtful and supportive business and I am really looking forward to working with them”
Never wanting to stop learning, Fi is currently studying screen printing at Spike Island Print Studio, Bristol.
