Shepton Mallet 2019's Workshops..... What alot we've got planned for you!!

If you would like to take part  in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).  Or just turn up on the day and book. 

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the the stand where the workshop will be taking place. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Workshops

Peg Loom Weaving - weave a small rug or wool trivet

Times: 11:00am-12:00pm everyday

Location: G17 (Big Sky Textiles)

Cost to attend: £10

Take a break from the busy show to spend a relaxing hour making your own small rug or wool trivet. Using a pre-warped wooden peg loom, you can choose from a range of chunky wool selvedge yarn or cotton fabric yarn to weave a useful little rug for your home or a wool trivet for your table, and learn lots about weaving along the way!

I teach weaving using simple, inexpensive tools so it’s easy to learn and accessible to everyone. No previous experience necessary - I supply all the materials and the techniques, you just bring your creativity and a willingness to experiment and play.

Weaving Sticks - weave a bowl

Times: 1:30pm-2:30pm everyday

Location: G17 (Big Sky Textiles)

Cost to attend: £10

Take a break from the busy show to spend a relaxing hour making your own small woollen bowl. Using a set of 5 simple wooden weaving sticks and some multi-stranded 'upcycled' wool, weave a useful little bowl (or 2!) for your home, and learn lots about weaving along the way!  

I teach weaving using simple, inexpensive tools so it’s easy to learn and accessible to everyone. No previous experience necessary - I supply all the materials and the techniques, you just bring your creativity and a willingness to experiment and play.  

You will need a tapestry/wool needle to finish the bowl at home - I will have some for sale if you need one.

Rose of Shannon Shadow Applique Panel

Times: 11:00am-12:00pm , 12.15pm-1:15pm and 2:00pm-3:00pm everyday

Location: G6 (Abbieanne Textiles)

Cost to attend: £5

Learn a new skills, hand shadow appliqué and other hints & tips.

Textile brooches 

Times: 11:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-3:00pm everyday

Location: G3

Cost to attend: £12 

Stitch your own colourful textile brooch using Angelina and fabric,  machine stitching, manipulation and beading will complete your creation!
