Furzie Fascinators

10.30am, 1pm, 3pm running all three days

Hall 2 Stand M40 - Furzie

Price to attend: £10

Get creative with Furzie and needle-felt a hare, dog or cat head on a hat or lapel pin. This 60-90 minute workshop will teach you the basics of needle felting, and give you a chance to express yourself with wool. Suitable for absolute beginners, adults and children over 12 years. Paint Pouring Workshop - Paint Pouring with Sarah

Times: 10am & 11.30am & 1.00pm & 3pm Running all 3 days

Location: Workshop Room 4 (Child Friendly Workshop)

Price to attend: £10 for one tile or £15 for two

In this fantastic workshop, run by the lovely Sarah Kennard, you will work with water-based acrylic paint and other materials to create a unique piece of work on a tile or two if you wish!

You do not need any experience (or artisitic ability!) to take part in this workshop so come and have a go at a new skill.

Children over the age of 6 can take part in this workshop, but they must be accompanied by a supervising adult who does not have to take part if they do not wish to. 

Take one stitch and master it! - Friday Only Workshop

Time: Friday 19th October at 10.15am & 1.15pm & 2.45pm

Location: Balcony Stand G13 - West Country Embroiders. (Child Friendly)

Cost to Attend: £5 adults, Children accompanied, Go Free!

This workshop will be run by Ann Emery, a member of the Sherborne West Country Embroiderers. 

In this workshop you will make a gift card with an insert of a piece of textural embroidery using just one stitch, but using different sizes and thicknesses of the thread.

Learn the Art of Needle Tatted Lace

Time: 10.15am & 13:45pm Running all 3 days

Location: Stand 128 - Tatting and Design

Cost to Attend: £10 

In this workshop, run by the lovely Barbara, you will make a lovely gift bag with a lace motif on it. 

This workshop does not require any experience and you will learn all the school need to needle tat a double stitch,  make a chain, ring and picot, how to do a join and how to read a pattern to make a simple lace motif to stitch onto a gift bag, or use as you wish. 

This fantastic workshop is for 6 participants only so make sure you book a place in advance. Parchment Craft Taster Session

Time: 11am & 12.00pm & 1.30pm & 2.30pm & 3.30pm Running all 3 days

Location: Balcony Stand G14 - The Association of Parchment Craft

The Association of Parchment Craft will be running taster sessions for you to have a go at this lovely craft. 

The session will give you the opportunity to try some of the tools and techniques used in parchment craft. 

You will have the opportunity to make either a mouse, penguin or a snowman and each class will take around 30 to 45 minutes. 

  

Fairy Tree House (Friday Only)

Time: Friday 19th October at 11.00am & 1.45pm

Location: Stand 67- The Craft Studio

Cost to Attend: £8

In this workshop you will create your own fantastic Fairy Tree House! Using a mdf art shrine from That's Crafty you will turn this into a magical little tree house, complete with it's own fairy book! This will involve using chalk paint, texture paste, inks + Lavinia stamps.

Festive Bunting (Thursday Only)

Time: 11.15am & 1.45pm - Thursday Only Class

Location: Stand 67 - The Craft Studio

In this Christmassy workshop, you will make a lovely set of festive bunting. Using chipboard, inks,  stamps + resist techniques you will create a festive-style heart bunting, which will incorporate some pretty embellishments, made using Britannia dies.

In this Christmas workshop, you will make a lovely Festive tag.  Using chipboard, distress inks + oxides, stamps + resist techniques you will make a large decorative festive tag, which will incorporate some pretty embellishments, made using Britannia dies.

Naught to Gnome demonstration

Naught to Gnome is a free demonstration that showing you how to make your 3D gnome and inspiring you to carry it on at home!

Wire Wrapped Stone Pendant - Holly Berkley Jewellery

Time: 1.00pm Running all 3 days

Location: Balcony Stand G7

Cost to Attend: £10 

In this workshop, you will learn to wire wrap stones and keepsakes using wire to form a miniature cage. You will then finish the piece to make a pendant by making a bail so that it will hang from a necklace.   No previous experience is required to take part in this workshop. All tools and equipment will be supplied at no extra cost. Book early to avoid disappointment as only 12 people can partake in this workshop at a time.

Felt 3D Ladybird

This lovely workshop is for beginner Felters who want to have a go at a new skill. 

Joan Prowse, a very talented, skilled felter will be leading this workshop and will be on hand to offer advice on Felting and help you as you embark on your Felting Journey!

Fabulous Flowers - Make it Paisley

Come and take part in this lovely wet felting make and take with Melanie Cole from Make it Paisley. In this 30 minute workshop you will make flowers.

Peg Loom Weaving

Time: 1.30pm Running all 3 days

Location: Balcony Stand G6 - Big Sky Textiles

Cost to Attend: £10

Take a break from the busy show to spend a relaxing hour making your own small rug or seat cushion.  Using a pre-warped wooden peg loom, you can choose from a range of chunky wool selvedge yarn or cotton fabric yarn to weave a useful little rug for your home, and learn lots about weaving along the way!

I teach weaving using simple, inexpensive tools so it’s easy to learn and accessible to everyone.  No previous experience necessary - I supply all the materials and the techniques, you just bring your creativity and a willingness to experiment and play!

Each workshop is limited to 6 people so there is plenty of time for individual attention but still enough new people to chat and share ideas with.

Workshop Room 1 - Glass Garden Studio

The Glass Garden Studio is holding Stained Glass Copper Foiling workshops at the show - no experience necessary, just a willingness to try something a little bit special with beautiful glass.  Lots of designs to choose from and we will guide you every step of the way!



The workshop will be running every day of the show at the following time;

10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30.  The cost is £17 and there will be 12 places available, Each workshop will last for around 1 hour.
