The Devon County Show’s stand has the Royal wow factor thanks to a group of Exeter College students.
The eye-catching display incorporates a massive fish, a wall of tissue paper flowers and a promotional video and there's the opportunity to get crafty on the stand which promotes two attractions at this year’s Show.
The new Ocean Discovery Zone will raise awareness of marine conversation issues and the Show is hosting the biggest Royal Wedding party in the county to celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
The BTEC Level 3 students, currently completing an Event Management course, have been getting the experience of working with a ‘real client’: the Devon County Show. Following a brief from the Devon County Show team, they have designed the stand to highlight the work of marine conservation charities in Devon whilst encouraging people to get involved in a huge Royal Wedding celebration. The show will go live on the day of the wedding and there will a party atmosphere with big TV screens showing live coverage from Windsor at several venues around the showground and plenty of bunting strung around marquees and pavilions. Visitors can contribute by handcrafting Show decorations at the Devon County Show stand 38
Visitors of all ages are invited to get involved in a variety of activities including:
· Royal Wedding Celebration - make flowers from recyclable tissue paper – (red, blue and white). The makers ‘sign’ their flower and, at the end of each day, one is chosen at random to win a pair of tickets for the Devon County Show.
· Ocean Discovery Zone – make colourful fish from the craft materials supplied and see it displayed on the stand wall.
