We excited for the return of the Project Linus UK a volunteer organisation to our Westpoint Show.
Project Linus aims to provide a sense of security and comfort to sick and traumatised babies, children and teenagers through the provision of new home made patchwork quilts and knitted/crocheted blankets, and give volunteers across the UK the opportunity to contribute to their local community.
Last year they placed just under 29,000 quilts nationally.
This included 20 huge incubator covers for St Michaels Hospital where the mums reported that bonding with their babies was made far easier when the glare of the lights was removed by the covers. The star in this photo is Patrick who overcame various problems to become the bonny lad he is now.
Many of our supporters deliver their quilts to the shows and others take the opportunity to tell us about how the children receiving the quilts enjoy them enormously.
