Shepton Mallet 2018's Workshops..... What alot we've got planned for you!!

If you would like to take part  in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).  Or just turn up on the day and book. 

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the the stand where the workshop will be taking place. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Small Needle Felted Teddy Workshop

Lizabeth Fibre Animals Stand

Approx workshop Running time 50 mins

All materials needed to complete this small  teddy  will be supplied .You will be shown how to use basic needle felting techniques to complete and finish the project and how to add finishing details . your miniature teddy is yours to take home with you . colours vary

Small Needle Felted Dog Workshop

Nuno Felting

Stand G11 - Bicton College

Nuno felting experience – an introduction:  using merino, cotton scrim, silk fibres and lustrous embellishments create an A3 sample to embroider into and/or adorn a flower vessel or lampshade;  (vessel and shade not included)  Texture packs also available to purchase.

Thursday & Friday: 12.30 – 1.00pm, 3.30 – 4pm

Saturday: 11.00-11.30am, 12.15-12.45pm, 2.00-2.30pm, 3.15-3.45pm

Felt making with Creative Escape

Using the wet-felting method this workshop will guide you through the stages to create a wall-hanging, picture, broach and more. We have lots of colourful wool and decorative fibres to choose from, making every creationg a personal one. 

All ages and abilities welcome.

Silk Painting Workshop

Come and have a go at this creative craft. Lots of vibrant colours to choose from and a range of hand drawn designs to pick from very relaxing and all ages and abilities welcome.

Felted Soap

Join Tracey in the traditional art of wet felting. Create a felted soap to use in your home. They are naturally exfoliating, and naturally anti-bacterial, so you can jump in the bath or shower and use it as it is.

The felt will continue to shrink with the soap, maintaining it’s attractive appearance it will also prevent any soap residue forming on the side of your sink. You will also find your soap will last longer.

FELTbyFi wet felting landscape

Creative maker for years, Fi found felting and was hooked.
Join Fi, from FELTbyFI , and make a wet felted landscape using merino wool and silk fibres.
£6 for half an hour of inspired creativity.

Needle Felt Mini Scape

Stand B11 - Joan Prowse

£6.50 

 Suitable for beginners. Joan will teach you how to make this mini seascape so that you learn the techniques necessary to be able to go on and create your own pictures after the workshop. You get to keep what you make, all materials and use of tools are included and you get to have a fun time too!

Suitable for adults and supervised children over 9yrs old.

Needle Felt 3D Toadstool

Stand B11 - Joan Prowse

A little previous needle felting experience is recommended. Make and take away your own needle felted toadstool in 3D. Joan will teach you how to start working in three dimensions to create a toadstool.  All materials and use of tools are included.

Wet Felted Flowers

Stand G11 - Bicton College

Price: £6

Join Alison Young BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles, who has a background in fashion, textiles and craft and discover the magic of wet felting!  Alison has taught art, Design and Technology and printing in primary school. You will take away with you a felt flower which can be made into a brooch or used as decoration.  Lay out wool fibres and see them blend to make fabric.  You can then try this at home with general household equipment.

Thursday and Friday – 11.30am - 1200pm & 2.30 - 3pm
