Exhibiting again at the Bath & West and running a series of workshops throughout the show will be Casalana. My mum taught me to knit when I was 5 and I have never lost my passion for it since that day. I am a yaaholic and have had a long love affair with all things woolley. I have knitted for my children, friends and now my grandchildren for nearly 50 years. I moved to Spain in 2003 and lived there for nearly 11 years, retuing to the UK in 2014. Whilst I was there I started an on line business selling my creations. This is where my name Casalana came from as it translates from Spanish as the wool house. I love to work with pure wools and natural materials. Alpaca and merino yas are two of my favourites. I am a bit of a ya snob and don't like synthetic yas and am always on the look out for new and interesting yas and I like to use recycled materials such as sari silk and cottons. I try to support small independent businesses and buy hand dyed and hand spun yas whenever I can and this is my next step in my jouey to lea to dye and spin my own yas.
